Angela recently published her first book “Not No, WAIT”, and we got the chance to sit with her and ask a few questions about her new book, the writing and publishing process, and why she chose Beyond The Book Media to help her along the journey. BTBM: Please tell us about yourself.
Angela: I am a certified Life Coach, ordained Minister, and Life Agent. I had the pleasure of founding Coach ASK, Women Praying for Christ, Inc. (WPFCM) with chapters in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Nigeria, Texas, and North Carolina and Dr. Angela S. King Ministries. I have developed programs and services for individuals and families needing counseling, prayer, and personal improvement. My accomplishments as an Evangelist, Teacher, Motivational Speaker, Mentor, Talk Show Host, Life Coach, and Author have given me the opportunity to establish myself as one of the nation’s most respected and sought-after voices today.
BTBM: Tell us about your book and who your book is for?
Angela: My book talks about the darkest time of my life. My season of infertility, deceit and death. My book is for those who want to develop an intimate relationship with God. It’s for those who are/have struggled with infertility, doubt, faith, death, or within your marriage.
After reading this book, you will be able to renew your strength, fight for your family and your desire to become a mother. You will understand that nothing is too hard for God! He is waiting to give you the desires of your heart. God loves you so much!
BTBM: What are the top three takeaways you would like your readers to walk away with?
Angela:
1. God will give you the desire of your heart.
2. You only need one YES from God.
3. You are stronger than you think.
BTBM: What inspired you to write your book?
Angela: My book was written in dedication to my daughter Alexis. I wanted her to know how loved and special she is. Not only to God but to me as well. She was the desire of my heart, and God blessed me with her because of my faith in Him.
BTBM: Tell us a little bit about your writing process? Do you use a unique method? What did the beginning stages entail for you?
Angela: My writing process was difficult at first. This was a very private season of my life that I really didn’t want to talk or think about. Then I decided to say YES lord, I will do it. The words started to come so fast to my remembrance. I could not keep up with my thoughts. I never realized how much of this season in my life was pushed so far down in my subconscious. It became a very emotional experience. Many days, I had to stop writing because I was crying so hard that I literally could not see my keyboard.
BTBM: In terms of publishing, what was that process like for you? And why did you choose BTBM?
Angela: It was a very rewarding experience. I have learned so much during this process. I chose BTBM after speaking with the founder Chanel E. Martin. God said go with BTBM and I obeyed. It was also something about my connection with Chanel. I felt her heart and passion for what God had anointed her to do.
BTBM: What advice would you give to authors or even entrepreneurs wanting to start or those in the process of writing a book?
Angela: Pray first and ask God for direction. Make sure it’s a God thing and not a self thing. Think about how your book would be a blessing to others. Write only what the lord places on your heart. Have patience. Know that when it’s a God thing, the process won’t flow easily.
BTBM: What products/services do you want to offer alongside your book for promoting purposes?
Angela: I will be offering a Prayer Journal, alongside my book in Feb of 2023. Other products are in the development stages and will be promoted when they are finalized and available for purchase.

BTBM: What is next for you and your brand? What can we look forward to in the coming months or years?
Angela: My mission with the ‘Not No, WAIT’ brand is to become a support system for women who are struggling in these areas. I want to develop a safe place where they can come, discuss and free themselves of the hurt, pain, disappointment and shame that comes from infertility, deceit and death. We are developing a podcast, healing clinics, conferences, workshops and retreats.
