Meet Author Riva Norris-Jackson

I am originally from Amityville, Long Island, New York. I am a newlywed of only one year and 4 months. I have served in the US Navy as military police but the rest of my work background is in education. I have been writing my whole life though I only just begun sharing what I write fairly recently. I love God, His Word, and His people, all of them. I have my bachelors of science in business administration and management. I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Divinity in Global Studies which I will graduate next summer.

Are you a brand or business owner? If so can you tell us about the products and services you offer?

I am. I have books/ebooks, apparel (in progress), but I offer services, too. I do business consulting, content writing, and I speak, occasionally.

How has writing a book helped your business or brand?

It has given people a better look at me when they thought they knew me as just whoever they thought I was. Now they realize I am and do so much more.

Tell us about your book.

I title my book To Me With Love: Memoirs to a Broken Little Girl. I wrote it because I needed it and it became a project I realized others needed as well. It is a basic recap of a few memorable moments in my life I wish I had pre-warnings to. It also has places for readers to write and revisit some of those moments too. There are scripture recaps and song recommendations that relate to the parts of my journey this book shares.

What inspired you to write your book?

I was in a really confused and scary place regarding my identity and purpose. I had this inside mental prayer I guess where I was full of regret, saying “I wish someone could have told me my life would be like this. God, I wish I could have been my own guardian angel.” The thought came to me like who else feels this way, who else is thinking like this. So I wrote what I wished I had.

Who is your book for?

It may seem extremely feminine but this particular book is literally for any and everyone who has been blindsided by grief. Whether mourning loss through death or even failed expectations and plans, this book is for anyone who has had many regrets they couldn’t shake. If they can’t process their pain or the twists’ life brings this journal will help write themselves free. I re-read it myself whenever I need to shake feelings that don’t feel like myself or from God.

Where can people purchase your book?

I am on Amazon. The link to my book is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086PPLXF1

What are the top three takeaways you would like your readers to walk away with?

1) You don’t have to be stuck where you are.

2) You are not alone or crazy for feeling how you feel.

3) There is hope even if you don’t have the strength to pursue it right now.

How can people connect with you?

I have a lot of links so my site is: www.rivajaye.com, Everything I am and do are there, And there is also: https://linktr.ee/RivaJackson. For all direct interests whether to shop, read my posts, subscribe, and listen to my podcasts or book me for any of my services.

What products/services are you going to include in your give away?

One free consultation for 15 minutes. There is something I call “vision-mapping” where we sit and discuss aspirations, life goals, and we verbally work through these visions/ideas and the individual will come away with a clear-cut success plan to make their idea happen.
